Library Information for Alumni
Okanagan College Library Cards are available for OC and OUC Alumni. Cards are available FREE for all OC/OUC Student alumni or retired faculty and staff at all campuses. To obtain your card, please e-mail the alumni office with the subject “Alumni Library Card.”
Location & Hours
Campus libraries are located on the Kelowna, Penticton, Salmon Arm and Vernon campuses. Alumni are welcome to use any Campus Library. Library hours vary by campus and time of year.
Alumni are granted community borrowing privileges at all campus libraries. Community borrower cards are issued by OC Library after the e-mail application to the Alumni Association has been completed. Cards are valid for 365 days after being issued and may be renewed annually. Alumni have access to the Library’s complete print collection and may borrow books, circulating reports, CDs and most DVDs. Information on borrowing privileges, loan periods, and fines can be found on the 'Use the Library' web page.
Loan Periods, Fines & Fees
Loan periods vary by type of material. Unless otherwise marked, all items are due by closing time of the due date. Material returned after the due date may be subject to overdue fines. If you lose or damage Library materials, you are responsible for replacement and processing costs. You have the right to discuss your fines with a librarian. You may also file a formal appeal.
Requests, Renewals, Returns & Holds
Circulating materials may be requested from any OC campus Library. Use the Library's online catalogue to place requests for material from other campus libraries. Community members are unable to recall or place holds on items that are currently checked out.
Library materials may be renewed online (link to account), in person, or by phone (link to Library Phone numbers). The number of renewals varies according to the material.
Materials may be returned to any OC Library.
Online databases and electronic journals are available to alumni on-campus. Off-campus access is not available due to licensing restrictions. Okanagan Regional Library provides access to online databases and e-journals for members. Interlibrary loans and reserve materials are not available to alumni.
