Career Planning

Choosing a career may be one of the most important decisions you make as it will likely have a major influence on your lifestyle.  Accordingly, we don't recommend the  "pin the tail" approach for career decision making.
Pin the tailCounselling Services provides a number of services that can assist you in the career decision making process. If you are a currently enrolled student or alumni of OC you can access any of the following services. If you are not an OC student, some of the services may not be available to you. This is dependent on counsellor availability.

One way or another, take a look at the 5 P's of Career Planning, The Career Decision Wheel and Recommend Web Sites to help you get started.

Individual Appointments
: Talking one on one with a counsellor about your career goals and the career decision making process.

Group Workshops:  Workshops on various topics related to career planning are sometimes offered depending on student need and counsellor availability.

Career Assessment:  We utilize a number of assessments such as the Match Maker from www.careercruising.com (Contact Counselling Services to receive the Username and Password) and the Strong Interest Inventory (some fees may apply).
