Graduation

How Graduation Works for Trades

Graduation Audit

Once your program is complete, apply to graduate so the Graduating Student Coordinator (GSC) can review your student record to ensure you have met program requirements according to the calendar. You will then receive a letter of completion in your email. If your program requires submission to the ITA, the upload occurs monthly. Depending on when your program ends, your information will be sent within 30 days.

Applying to Graduate

  • Go to myOkanagan.bc.ca
  • Sign in using your nine-digit student identification number and the password you have set.
  • Choose the Self-service option and navigate the Student tab.
  • Choose Student Records, then Apply to Graduate.

Education Council

All graduands must be sent through the Education Council for approval once the GSC has reviewed the student record before the certificates for graduating students can be distributed.

The Education Council (also known as EdCo) is an internal governance body of Okanagan College as required by the College and Institute Act. According to the Act, the Education Council is responsible for providing for the granting of all the credentials awarded by Okanagan College with the exception of those in Continuing Studies. To that end, Education Council reviews a list of graduands submitted to the Council for consideration.

Certificates are mailed out shortly after the Education Council meets.

Please note, your certificate will not include official transcripts or copies of your transcripts. Students who owe outstanding fees will not receive a certificate.
