Assoc. Science Degree - Computer Science Emphasis

While the Computer Science department at Okanagan College offers a great education through the CIS diploma and BCIS degree, some students may wish to take a more-traditional Bachelor of Science (or Bachelor of Arts) in Computer Science.

For those students, we offer a selection of courses which are accepted for credit at other institutions in BC. These are the University Studies courses: COSC 111, 121, 211, 221, 222, and 231. Note that these courses may also be taken as part of the CIS and BCIS programs. These courses are also suitable for students considering a bachelor degree in an area other than Computer Science.

Okanagan College offers a Computer Science emphasis as part of the Associate of Science degree. Learn more about that option here.

Details on transfer to and from Okanagan College are available through the BC Transfer Guide .

Consider completing the Associate of Science. This is a provincially-recognized credential which assures you entry into third year at universities in BC, assuming you have a grade average of at least 60%. Depending on the university, you may need to take some additional courses which OC unfortunately does not offer.

A general description of the Associate of Science is available at The BC Transfer Guide website

At Okanagan College, the requirements for completing the Associate of Science are given here
