Derek Cook is a full time professor teaching in the business program at Okanagan College. Derek’s background as a professional accountant, as well as years of experience in industry, has allowed him to teach a diverse range of subjects from accounting and finance to HR management and organizational behavior. His current teaching focus is accounting and corporate finance. Derek has a special interest in international education and teaches courses in international accounting and finance each year at a university in Germany

Derek has ten years of senior level human resource management experience in the financial and automotive industries. He has broad experience in all functional areas within HR, with significant experience in executive succession planning and implementation of organizational change initiatives.

Derek also has more than ten years of experience in corporate lending and venture capital, working with entrepreneurial companies needing financing to support growth.
