Trades and Apprenticeship

Transforming Lives and Communities

Welcome to the Trades and Apprenticeship homepage.  We have the training you need to start a career in trades.  A career in trades offers a promising future in a secure, well paid and challenging occupation.

The Trades and Apprenticeship Department is committed to provide applied education and training to meet your future career and educational goals.  Our highly skilled instructors and staff are part of a dynamic learning community.  Our programs are delivered in a safe environment, providing you with the hands-on experience to prepare you for the workforce.

For more than 50 years, students have attended Okanagan College for Trades and Apprenticeship training.  We offer Foundation programs and Apprenticeship programs in over 20 trades.  Our programs are recognized by both the Province of British Columbia as well as Canada.  Most of the Apprenticeship programs lead to "Red Seal" National Endorsement.  We also offer General Interest Programs and Women in Trades Programs.

Our knowledgeable front line staff can provide the information and support you will need to make an informed decision, and to navigate through your training at Okanagan College.  Additionally, you can book a personalized tour as a "student for a day" to become familiar with the trades we offer.

While you attend Okanagan College we have additional supports if required by various departments such as:
Student Services to assist you in your studies.

We wish you success in your studies.
