Campus to Campus Half Marathon

Race Day 2010: Sunday, March 28

Registration is now open for the first major Okanagan road race of the new decade – the Campus-to-Campus Half Marathon, 10 km and Relay Race, all of which will take place on Sunday, March 28 in Kelowna.

The race, now in its eighth year of operation, will offer runners new opportunities including an out-and-back course beginning at the KLO Road campus of Okanagan College.

Half Marathon: 8:15 a.m. start

The half marathon will cover 21.1 kms of Kelowna pavement, taking runners along the Abbott corridor into City Park and will turn around atop the first hill on Knox Mountain. Runners will make their way back along the waterfront to Gyro Beach, cross Lakeshore at Richter and finish at the KLO campus.

Prize money will be offered to the top three finishers in the male and female division of the half marathon. On each side, first place will receive $250, second place will take $150 and the third place finisher will receive $100.

All half marathon participants will receive a long sleeve technical running shirt and a finisher's medal. Follow this link to register online or print off a paper registration form (see left column on this web page) and drop it off at Okanagan College c/o Public Affairs or at Fresh Air Experience.

Half marathon fee:
The early bird entry fee for the half marathon is $45 until Feb. 28. The cost from March 1 – 14 is $50 and the late entry fee from March 15 – 28 is $65. Students receive a $5 discount. Please note online registration closes on March 26 - paper forms will be accepted on race day but shirts are not guaranteed.

Relay Race: 8:15 a.m. start

For new runners or those looking for a shorter distance, the Campus-to-Campus offers a relay race that covers the same course as the half marathon and allows up to five runners to participate. Relay teams may not register online, as each member of the team must sign a waiver. Paper registration forms are available on this page (see link on left) and may be dropped off or mailed to Okanagan College c/o Public Affairs or dropped off at Fresh Air Experience. Relay team members each receive a race t-shirt.

Relay entry fee: $125 per team.

10 km Race: 8 a.m. start

For the first time in its history, the Campus-to-Campus will offer a flat and fast 10 km course on race day. The 10 km race will take runners along the same first and last portions of the half marathon course but will turnaround in City Park.

Follow this link to register for the 10 km online or print off a paper registration form (see left column on this web page) and drop it off at Okanagan College c/o Public Affairs or at Fresh Air Experience. All 10 km participants will receive a race t-shirt.

10 km entry fee: $35 (early bird Jan. 12 - Feb. 28), $40 (March 1 - 14) and $55 (March 15 - 28). Please note online registration closes on March 26 - paper forms will be accepted on race day but shirts are not guaranteed.

Volunteers

Any non-runners wishing to be involved with the race can lend their time as race volunteers or course marshals. There is no experience or certification necessary, volunteers do not direct traffic but instead assist in keeping runners safe while on the course. Volunteers will receive a race crew t-shirt.
