Many students arrange travel insurance in their own countries before coming to Canada. This type of insurance is not necessarily medical insurance and does not always pay for doctor or hospital visits.

BEFORE REGISTRATION: All students must make arrangements for CANADIAN MEDICAL INSURANCE.

Strategic Financial Services

  • EVERYONE must begin with this insurance.
  • Cheques are payable to "Strategic Financial Services".
  • Cheque should be mailed to International Education or presented after arrival.
  • This plan provides insurance for the student's first three months. Thereafter students register in the public British Columbia Medical Services plan.
  • If your study permit (or visitor visa) is valid for six (6) months or less, you will continue with Strategic Financial Services.

B.C. Medical Services Plan
