How to Apply
Applicants must be 18 years of age, or turn 18 during their first semester at OC. Applicants who are 17 years of age may be admitted if they have completed B.C. grade 12 or equivalent, or if they wish to study for the summer session only.
Admission Requirements for each program are included on the page for each program on this website.
When you are accepted into an Okanagan College program, an ADMISSION PACKAGE will be mailed to you.
The package contains:
- a Letter of Admission
- a student profile form and an application form for homestay or a dormitory room
- a form requesting your flights/arrival information
- information on OC policies including medical insurance (covering visits to the doctor)
- for students attending full-time university programs, there is also information on registration as well as health (covering prescription drugs) & dental insurance.
How do I apply?

Download Printable pdf Application Form You will be required to send official school records, test results and transcripts with the application, or as soon as they are available.

A non-refundable application fee of $100 Canadian must be received before application will be processed.
How do I obtain a Study Permit?
For programs of more than six (6) months duration, applicants must obtain a Study in Canada Permit.
Steps:
- Contact the Canadian Embassy in your country about specific requirements.
- Usually, the following are required for an application for a study permit:
- a formal letter of admission from a Canadian school
- a valid passport
- proof that you have enough money to support yourself while you are in Canada
- a medical examination may be required
- If your application is approved, you will receive a letter of permission issued by the Canadian Embassy. This letter MUST be shown to the Immigration Officer when you enter Canada.
