Kathy Butler, CFRE Director, Advancement & Alumni Executive Director, Okanagan College Foundation
Kathy has overall responsbility for Advancement at Okanagan College, providing leadership in fundraising and alumni relations. Leads strategic work with internal and external constituencies to promote the mission, vision, values, and goals of Okanagan College.
She primarily focusses on engaging major capital gifts (over $10,000) and special major campaigns and projects.
Kathy sits on the Okanagan College Leadership Team, serves as the Executive Director of the Okanagan College Foundation, and liaises with the Okanagan College Alumni Association. Kathy has been working with Okanagan College since September 2003.

Dawn Douglas Executive Secretary / Board Secretary
Dawn serves as the Assistant to the Director, Advancement & Alumni as well as Board Secretary for the Okanagan College Foundation. She coordinates the day-to-day operations of the office as well as the Director's daily schedule. She looks after planning Okanagan College Foundation Board meetings and sub-committee meetings and participates in all of these meetings.
Dawn manages the Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Kelowna as well as the 50/50 Staff Lottery program. She plans other special events throughout the year, such as award presentations, donor recognition events and workshops. Dawn is the webmaster for the Foundation's websites and Facebook pages, helps maintain the database of alumni and donors, and participates in various committees within the institution including OCAD (Okanagan College Assistant's Development Committee).
Dawn has worked with Okanagan College since June 1996, and with the Advancement & Alumni team since January 2004. Dawn is a 2005 graduate of Okanagan University College.

Anne Kirkpatrick, CFRE Development Officer - Major Gifts/Planned Giving
Anne joined the Okanagan College Foundation in January 2009 after a twenty year development career in Alberta. Through the establishment of strong relationships with alumni, friends and partners, she is responsible for building the individual major gift and the planned giving programs.
Anne has an extensive development background including several years working in a post-secondary environment, 10 years with United Way organizations and consulting with a wide variety of non-profit groups throughout Canada.
Throughout her career, Anne has been an avid supporter of the non-profit sector and is actively engaged with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP). She obtained her fundraising certification (CFRE) in 1999 and has delivered numerous workshops and presentations throughout western Canada.
Anne is delighted to have relocated from Alberta to the Okanagan Valley where she is a community volunteer and a keen golfer.

Katerina Hay Alumni & Community Relations Coordinator
Katerina provides overall direction and support for alumni programs and activities at Okanagan College. She devises and directs the plans of alumni relations ensuring annual goals, budgets, and objectives are met.
Kat directs community relations activities and events related to alumni identification and recruitment. She oversees publications, websites and other communication vehicles in addition to the business relationships and affinity and benefit programs of the alumni association. She coordinates strategies aimed at engaging alumni and community involvement. Kat is the key contact and support for the Okanagan College Alumni Association.
Katerina joined Okanagan College in January 2004. Kat is a 1999 graduate of Okanagan University College and is currently completing her BBA here at Okanagan College.

Jackie Edwards Donation Processing & Database Clerk
Jackie is responsible for the receiving and processing of all donations and revenues generated from award appeals, special events and other fundraising activities for the Okanagan College Foundation and for Alumni Relations. She prepares all bank deposits, posts donations, processes reports, reconciles accounts with Finance, prepares payment vouchers, journal entry transfers, and prepares acknowledgment letters and receipts to donors. Jackie maintains award files and updates the database with new information. Jackie provides data retrieval, data analysis, conducts queries and generates reports.
Jackie works closely with the Finance department preparing financial reports and compiling information from the database to meet audit requirements. She manages inquiries from other Okanagan College campuses and works closely with the Financial Awards Department in the co-coordination of the annual awards receptions. Jackie merges data to produce mass mailing of reports, solicitations, and acknowledgment letters. She liaises with the Payroll Department regarding payroll deductions for donations to Okanagan Colleges Annual fund and processes all Gift in Kind donations.
Jackie has worked with Okanagan College since 1996 and in the Advancement & Alumni office since 2007.

Marcy Nelson Database Clerk
Marcy joined the Advancement & Alumni team in July 2006.
Marcy assists in entering data on our database as well as conducting donor research and tracing and tracking alumni and other records for the Advancement & Alumni office, as well as for the Okanagan College Foundation and the Okanagan College Alumni Association. Using a variety of research methods, Marcy also assists in searching for and collecting data on corporations, foundations, organizations, and individuals for new and existing projects and initiatives, such as campaigns and alumni events. Marcy also assists in preparing data queries and merges for mass mailings of reports, solicitations, special campaign letters and other correspondence.
Marcy graduated from Okanagan University College with a Business Administration Diploma in 2006 and is currently completing her BBA here at Okanagan College.

Tessa Derksen/Alumni/Headshots/Tessa+Derksen.jpg) Campaign Assistant
Tessa the Advancement Office as the Campaign Assistant in January 2011.
She comes to Okanagan College with great experience in development and communications. Tessa recently moved back to British Columbia, having spent the last five years working at the Royal Ontario Museum on a $272-million campaign.
She was a Development Assistant to the President and Executive Director of the ROM. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Victoria and has a graduate diploma in Not-For-Profit Arts Marketing and Development (Waterloo).
