Eduroam-XP

Instructions for connecting to Eduroam Wireless network using Windows XP SP3

Step 1 - DOUBLE CLICK on Wireless Networking icon in the notification area.

Step 2 - CLICK the Change Advanced Settings option from the related tasks list.

Step 3 -  TYPE eduroam in the SSID field.
                PUT a Check in the Connect even if this network is not broadcasting box.
                SELECT WPA2 from the Network Authentication drop-down menu.
                SELECT AES from the Data encryption drop-down menu.

Step 4 -  CLICK on the Connection tab.
                PUT a Check in the Connect when this network is in range box.

Step 5 -  CLICK the Authentication tab.
                SELECT Protected EAP (PEAP) from the EAP type drop-down menu.
                REMOVE the Check from the Authenticate as a computer box.
                CLICK the Properties button.

Step 6a - REMOVE the Check from the Validate server certificate box.
                 SELECT EAP-MSCHAP v2 from the Authentication Method drop-down menu.
                 CLICK the Configure button.

Step 6b - REMOVE the Check from the Automatically use my Windows logon name box.
                 CLICK OK, OK, OK until all dialog/setting boxes are closed.

Step 7 - CLICK on the Balloon Notification to enter your eduroam credentials

Step 8 - TYPE your Staff or Student number @okanagan.bc.ca
               TYPE your associated password
               CLICK OK

Done - You should now be connected to the eduroam wireless network.
