What is CCSSE?

The Community College Survey of Student Engagement ( CCSSE ) is an internationally recognized, respected survey tool that is administered by a third-party organization on behalf of Okanagan College, for the benefit of Okanagan College. It is an in-class survey that will take about 45 minutes to complete. The results will inform us about student engagement with their learning and will help us do what we do even better. Over 600 colleges have participated in the CCSSE since 2001.

Why complete the CCSSE?

This is an important survey! It is your way of telling us how we are doing and how we can improve. Student engagement is one of the college’s key directions and the results from the survey forms part of our Performance Indicators that we take to the Okanagan College Board of Governors . Your voice matters and will shape our college for now and for the future.

Students

• Increase students’ satisfaction with their educational experience.

• Increase students’ achievement of their educational goals.

• Increase student retention at Okanagan College.

• Increase student engagement in learning.

• Increase student engagement in communities.

Who will complete the CCSSE?

About 60 classes are selected at random and about 1300 students will asked to fill out the survey. Your information will be completely confidential, subject to the privacy laws of British Columbia.

How do I get involved?

When the CCSSE team comes to the classroom, be sure to fill out the survey. Take your time and give thoughtful answers. And then watch for the results later this year.
