Digital Printing / Copying

High Speed Duplicating (also called Production Copying)

Photocopying is a relatively quick way to make a good copy of most "black and white" documents.  It is usually recommended for small runs (less than 1000 copies per page) of text-oriented documents.

Many printing jobs are on a "need right now" basis.  That is a perfect situation for our IBM Infoprint 2000.  With a high speed of 110 sheets per minutes, as well as in-line collating, corner stapling, magazine stapling, folding and trimming capabilities, Print Services is well equipped to complete the job efficiently.  Paper sizes range from 8.5" x 11" to 11" x 17" on thicknesses from 20# to 110# paper and cardstocks.

Our Toshiba E810 photocopier provides additional copying at 80 sheets per minute as well as in-line collating, stapling and magazine fold.

Colour Printing

Colour adds impact to your printed material.  For short-run colour (up to approximately 500 copies), our IBM Infoprint Colour 100 and IBM Infoprint Colour 1228 provide cost effective, high quality photocopies and laser prints.  These machines can print on paper, cover stock and transparencies.  A wide-format capability on the Infoprint Color 100 supports extended in-house production printing (brochures, seminar promotions), that is ideal for charts, spreadsheets, financial statements, Internet printing and design applications.

Consider this for printing:

  • Digital Photos
  • Posters, Maps, Brochures
  • Transparencies
  • Report Covers

For larger volume jobs or specialized colour applications, Print Services utilizes the skills of local commercial print shops.  This might include projects like:

  • Wide Format Posters and Banners - Wider than 19 Inches
  • Signage
  • Okanagan College Stationery
  • Large Quantities of Posters, Brochures, Magazines, and Newsletters

e-Printing

e-printing accepts electronic files transmitted over the network or captures digital masters from hard copy originals placed in a scanner.  Once in the system, these digital masters may be viewed for merging with other documents, printed for proofing, stored (within your own department online archives) for printing at a later date, or printed.

e-printing is ideal for student course packs, lab manuals, etc.

To submit electronic files for printing, either fill out an online request form located in My Okanagan under OC Express - Requests and Notices, or send an email to Print Services indicating the details of the job (number of copies, paper colour, etc.) and the account number to be charged and attach the file.  Adobe Acrobat (pdf) is the best format to use, since it embeds the fonts and ensures that what we print will be the same as what you see on your screen.

Print Services can handle electronic submissions for data of the following program types:  Please note that MS Publisher is not compatible with current print production equipment.
