What is The Student Success Centre?

The Student Success Centre promotes "success for all" students in their learning and course work at Okanagan College.  The Student Success Centre provides assistance in reading, writing, science, mathematics, studying, and critical and creative thinking.  Our goal is to work collaboratively with faculty in creating services that support students in becoming effective, independent life long learners.



Any student attending Okanagan College
can use these services for free!


What Services Are Available?

We support all students in:
•  Essay/research paper development
•  Writing: skill refinement for editing, proofreading
•  Reading: vocabulary, comprehension
•  Study skills: note taking, time management
•  Idea generation
•  Presentation skills: oral, PowerPoint
•  Mathematics: all levels
•  Science: all levels and courses
•  Assignment comprehension
•  Preparation for exams: practice test for program entrance
•  Study Group facilitation
•  Peer Mentorship Program: Peer Tutoring

Where?

The Student Success Centre is located in the library for full service access to computers, librarian support, resources, and rooms for small group and/or one to one assistance.  We are a mini "Centre for Learning."
