What is it all about? Why should I attend? Who is it for?

This event may be of special interest to new and returning Okanagan College students and to anyone who is planning to go to college or university in the near future. Participants will be introduced to the support services available on campus and will attend presentations on time management, essay and report writing, learning strategies, critical reading and thinking, and taking care of one's own well-being.

9:00 - 9:30 Introduction: Identifying needs and support services
9:45 - 10:15 Time management
10:30 - 11:15 Learning strategies for the classroom
11:30 - 12:00 Writing essays and reports
12:00 - 12:45 Staff available for questions and individual consultation

Thursday, August 31
8:30 - 9:00 Refreshments
9:00 - 9:45 Being an active learner
10:00 - 10:45 Identifying Bullshit: a beginner's class on recognizing how language can be used to misrepresent facts and opinions.
11:00 - 11:45 Taking care of yourself
11:45 - 12:00 Wrap up
12:00 - 12:45 Advisors available for questions and individual consultation
