Vernon Trades Training Centre
A Trades Training Hub for the North Okanagan and Beyond
Canada’s productivity depends on the highly specialized expertise of tradespeople, and labour market predictions for B.C. show a shortage of skilled workers in key sectors. The situation is serious. We need to be ready.
As the largest trades training facility in the region, Okanagan College has more than 50 years of experience training skilled workers for B.C. We have positioned ourselves to aggressively address the skills shortage with a major investment into our trades facilities with the construction of a $6.2 million Trades Training Centre at the Vernon campus of Okanagan College.
Your support of the Bright Horizons - Building for Skills Campaign will help provide students with learning environments that are leading-edge and highly sustainable, matching the quality of instruction delivered by Okanagan College.

Located at the Vernon campus overlooking Kalamalka Lake, the new $6.2 million Trades Training Centre will provide 13,450 square-feet of space, state-of-the-art equipment and will establish itself as a trades training hub for the North Okanagan.
The new Trades Training Centre will help address the province’s skills gap by training approximately 150 students per year for the workforce.
