The easiest way to prepare your timetable of classes for a semester is to use ClassFinder. Find it from the Okanagan College homepage by navigating to Quick Links and then ClassFinder. If your program is a Continuing Studies certificate program, your courses will be listed in the Continuing Studies ClassFinder.
Remember that building your timetable in ClassFinder does not mean you are registered for your courses. ClassFinder is a tool to prepare your timetable to make the registration process faster and easier.
Each time you do a course search, you must pre-fill in the TERM, CAMPUS and SUBJECT. If you are unsure of the course number, you can simply enter in a 1 for first year courses, 2 for 2nd year courses, etc. followed by * (this is called a wild card search). Mouse over the (?) after each search field (Subject, Instructor etc.) to find out more.
Please note that many courses have a LECTURE and LAB. You must take both for that course. The way to tell the difference between a lecture and lab is right after the course name, for example MATH 112-071 or MATH 112-L71. The "L" is for the lab section. You would only need to take ONE of the lab sections in addition to the lecture.
Now find the course/days/times you want, click on the Add > in the far right column. The screen will change and it will start preparing a timetable/schedule for you. Don’t forget that if you are picking a course with a lab, you will need to add both the lecture and the lab.
You may also add yourself to a Waitlist (see example above) for courses that are full. See the menu on the left for our waitlist information under How to Register.
Once you’re done picking your first subject, click on “Search Results” just below the red OC logo to find the corresponding lab or the next course within the same search you previously did.
If you want to search for courses from a different subject, simply choose << Modify Search Criteria below the search results to start a new search.
One thing to be very sure of is that there are no overlaps in your schedule. The system will show you any conflicts in red (see example below). Simply click on Remove in the left column next to the course you wish to remove, and ClassFinder will take it out of your schedule. Then you’ll need to start a new search for another time or another course.
Once you’re happy with the way your timetable looks, print it out and move on to myOkanagan to register.
