Meet the Recruitment Team

Tawnya
Born in Vernon, Tawnya has been a part of the Okanagan College community for many years, first in International Education and now as a recruiter for the North Okanagan. Tawnya tells students to choose the College because of the small class sizes, the free tutoring and the excellent business program, among other reasons. What are her favourite things about the Vernon campus?

The people, the sense of community between staff and students and of course, the view. Best in the Valley, if not Canada! There's a stretch of lawn overlooking the lake on campus and a portion is tucked away – it makes a great place to go and relax, study or simply get away. The campus fitness centre is never busy and it's the cheapest gym pass around.

Alisa
Alisa McAuliffe is a proud graduate from the Okanagan School of Business, graduating with a BBA in General Business. She moved to the Okanagan Valley five years ago and fell in love with everything it has to offer.

The outdoor recreation opportunities fit perfectly with my active lifestyle: from snowboarding at Big White to hiking Knox Mountain with my dog to spending a day on Okanagan Lake! I transitioned from student to employee so I've been privileged to experience the College's educational offerings firsthand. Okanagan College provides you with a great educational experience, laying the groundwork for a successful future! The small class sizes and the instructors' dedication to foster student growth and development, goes above and beyond to help students get the most out of their studies. Take advantage of the numerous student services and campus events available. The Kelowna Campus Courtyard is beautiful. It was my go-to study spot, especially during gruelling summer studies! One quick word of advice: do not procrastinate! It makes a world of a difference.
