Tuition

Costs for an apprenticeship will vary depending on the trade or program. All apprentices will be responsible for the cost of tuition for technical training, textbooks, personal safety equipment, parking fees, and sundry items like notepaper, pens, etc. Remember your tuition is a tax deduction.

Registered apprentices who are eligible for Employment Insurance (EI) may be eligible to receive EI benefits during their attendance in technical training. See our section on Financial Aid for more information.

Some students will also incur transportation and/or temporary accommodation costs if they have to travel to attend training. Some assistance with travel and accommodation costs may be provided through the Employment Insurance Program. Okanagan College has compiled a list of available student accommodations.

You will be expected by most employers to own your own set of hand tools. The variety and number will vary with each trade. Most apprentices find it easier to build on a basic set as they progress through their apprenticeship.

Tuition Fees

OC requires all students to pay tuition fees, in full, 60 days prior to the start of their program.
