Each campus of Okanagan College is responsible for administering awards that are specific to that campus. College-wide awards (i.e., awards for students attending any campus of Okanagan College) are administered by the Financial Aid & Awards Office located at the Kelowna Campus. All applications must include the candidate's Canadian Social Insurance Number (required for issuing T4's).
Bursaries and awards based on financial need are available to eligible domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants). Scholarships recognizing academic achievement only are open to both domestic and international students, except for specific awards requiring Canadian Citizenship or Landed Immigrant status.
NOTE: The majority of awards require enrolment in full-time study; i.e., at least 80% of a full course load during the academic year. Some awards have higher or lower course load requirements. Consult individual award descriptions.
The selection of recipients for all awards is based on how well the applicant meets the requirements for the specific award. Successful applicants will be informed in writing. Due to the large number of applicants, it is impossible for the College to notify unsuccessful candidates. Award receptions are held at the Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Salmon Arm campuses.
Please note: emergency funding in the form of institutional loans or bursaries may be available to eligible students attending any campus of Okanagan College. If you are experiencing financial distress, please contact the Financial Aid & Awards staff at the Kelowna Campus to discuss your situation.
