Adult Learner

We can help you build your career foundations when you have been out of high school for a while or maybe never graduated. As an adult learner, sometimes called a mature student, you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You are at least 19 years of age
  • You have been out of high school for at least one year by the time your chosen program starts
  • You meet all general and program requirements (Grade 12 graduation is not required unless specified)

We offer a wide variety of upgrading courses if you did not complete high school. These courses are offered by our Adult Academic and Career Preparation (AACP) department. Have a look at how upgrading works.

If you are looking for some short general intrest courses - from wine appreciation to CPR and prenatal classes offered by our Continuing Studies department? Okanagan College can help you achieve your goals.

Already took some college or university courses? You may wish to move to the Transfer section to find out more. If you identify yourself as an Aboriginal or International student or if you already decided to start a trade or an apprenticeship, you may want to move on to those sections of this website.
